Information Science & Asset Management

In Spring 2016, I completed an MLIS degree with a focus in Digital Libraries from the School of Library & Information Science at Kent State University.

At Kent State, I studied digital collections metadata, presentation and preservation, knowledge management, cultural heritage informatics, accessibility and aging populations, and convergence in GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums).

My research and work lies at the intersection, art creation, historical research and documentation, and digital production. I focus on the use of multimedia tools and library principles to enhance research and critical thinking. Coursework projects included:

  • The History of Chief Leatherlips and Linked Histories
  • My culminating experience describing artist and professor Charles Woodman’s digital media collection in the University of Cincinnati Libraries Scholar@UC digital repository.
  • An Omeka website of selections from my personal shoe collection.

The projects presented on this page use WordPress, Omeka, and the Scholar@UC system at the University of Cincinnati to collect, document, describe, and present digital collections content as digital exhibits, stories, and trusted digital repository collections. Projects explore the interactive documentation and description of public art and history, hard-to-describe material objects (in the form of a personal project about shoes), and the video/performance artwork of electronic artist Charles Woodman, who sought to organize, describe, and store his work for longevity from 1982-present.
