In 2009, I worked for the Columbia University Libraries Digital Libraries Program Division in a half-year contract as a multimedia producer. In this post, I collaborated with librarian tutorial-makers to reformat existing instructional tutorials for use on the web and as downloadable podcasts, edited 12 hour-long episodes of the "Friends of the Libraries" audio lecture recordings from 2007 - 2009 and recorded/edited a 16-minute slideshow podcast for the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library's Recent Acquisitions event. These programs can be found in the Columbia University Libraries' iTunes University space. I also designed the library blogs interface page which houses a WordPress blog platform for use by university librarians. A longterm goal of this project was to define a workflow for multimedia projects on servers and on the web. Finally, I drafted a manual and set of internal graphics to guide librarians in the creation of new tutorials. This position culminated in a Digital Libraries Seminar Series presentation entitled "Multimedia in Libraries".
